Physics is not just for one specific type of person but is for people of all identities and backgrounds. The Blair Project specialises in supporting Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic youth to become the scientists, innovators, technicians, engineers and entrepreneurs needed to tackle climate change. Our STEM Truck activity sessions focus on the physics of motorsport. Pupils will explore materials, power and aerodynamics in 90-minute sessions. It is open to all abilities, and we are flexible in terms of how we deliver it – we can tailor the activities to suit how many young people you have attending. Our activity sessions include:
Magnificent Materials
Pupils will learn the benefits of 3D printing as well as gaining experience in CAD (Computer Aided Design).
Splitters and Spoilers
Exploring the theory of aerodynamics, pupils are tasked with building and testing their creation in our purpose-built wind tunnel.
Power up
Working in small teams, pupils will explore battery technologies with the aim to increase the power of the e-kart.
