PlanetPossibility.co.uk is a product of the Planet Possibility Consortium. The partners of this consortium are:

  • The University of Southampton
  • The University of Birmingham
  • AllAboutGroup
  • Future First 
  • The Blair Project

Each consortium partner is a joint data controller. Each partner has agreed to take reasonable, appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data so that the risk of data breaches is minimised. 

Partner Privacy Policies

Please note: AllAboutGroup is the Consortium's lead tech partner, and is the data controller responsible for the collection and storage of the data that you share with Planet Possibility when you use and/or register with the website. With that in mind, the AllAboutGroup Privacy Policy (listed below) is the primary policy to review for users of the Planet Possibility website before deciding to share your personal data with the Consortium.

These privacy policies set out how your personal information will be protected by each of the Planet Possibility Consortium partners when you use or register with PlanetPossibility.co.uk

What personal data will be shared with all of Planet Possibility's joint data controllers?

When you sign up to PlanetPossibility.co.uk as a school/college student, each joint data controller will be able to access the following data which is collected and stored by AllAboutGroup:

- Your name;

- Your email address;

- The school or college you currently attend;

- Your current year group;

- If you currently study physics;

When you sign up to PlanetPossibility.co.uk as a recent school leaver, each joint data controller will be able to access the following data which is collected and stored by AllAboutGroup:

- Your name;

- Your email address;

- The school or college you attended;

- If you currently study physics;

When you sign up to PlanetPossibility.co.uk as a university student, each joint data controller will be able to access the following data which is collected and stored by AllAboutGroup:

- Your name;

- Your email address;

- The university you currently attend;

- Your current academic stage;

- The type of subject you study;

When you sign up to PlanetPossibility.co.uk as a recent graduate, each joint data controller will be able to access the following data which is collected and stored by AllAboutGroup:

- Your name;

- Your email address;

- The university you attended;

- The type of subject you studied;

When you sign up to PlanetPossibility.co.uk as a career changer or somebody who is currently in employment, each joint data controller will be able to access the following data which is collected and stored by AllAboutGroup:

- Your name;

- Your email address;

- Your current job type;

When you sign up to PlanetPossibility.co.uk as a teacher, each joint data controller will be able to access the following data which is collected and stored by AllAboutGroup:

- Your name;

- Your email address;

- Your current job type;

When you sign up to PlanetPossibility.co.uk as a careers adviser, each joint data controller will be able to access the following data which is collected and stored by AllAboutGroup:

- Your name;

- Your email address;

- Your current job type;

Data shared with AllAboutGroup

Separate to the above data which is shared with all of the Consortium's joint data controllers, AllAboutGroup solely collects and stores the following data:

- Your gender (optional);

- If you identify as being of black heritage (optional);

- If you identify as being of Asian heritage (optional);

- If you identify as being of minority ethnic heritage (optional);

- Your disability status (optional);

- If you were previously eligible for free school meals (optional);

- If you are the first in your family to go to university (optional);

- If you are from a low income family (optional);

- If you identify as LGBTQ+ (optional);

This data is processed for reporting purposes to help the Consortium evaluate the success of Planet Possibility's various initiatives among different demographics. This data is not shared with any third parties.

AllAboutGroup also stores your password (encrypted) to enable you to access various features of the website which are solely accessible to registered members of our community.

When you use PlanetPossibility.co.uk generally, even as an unregistered user, AllAboutGroup may also process the following data on your use of the website, via Google Analytics:

- Which pages you visit;

- The time of your visit;

- How long you spend on each page;

- How long you remain on the website;

- The method/ by which you were referred to the website, e.g. via Google or social media channel;

- Your general site browsing habits;

- The type of device you used to access the website;

- The type of web browser you used to access the website;

- The type of operating system you used to access the website;

- Your network location and IP address.

Your rights as a data subject & controlling your personal data

Once you have registered as a member of PlanetPossibility.co.uk, you are entitled to:

- Access the data each partner holds on you;

- Rectify the data each partners holds on you if you believe it to be incorrect;

- Request that the data each partner holds on you be erased;

- Request that we restrict the processing of the data each partner holds on you;

- Obtain and reuse the data each partner holds on you for different services;

- Object to the use of your data for direct marketing.

To exercise your rights and request any of the above, please email mydata@allaboutgroup.org with your request, ideally referencing Planet Possibility specifically in the title of your email.

AllAboutGroup will inform other partners of your request, where necessary, to ensure that your request is carried out efficiently and effectively.

You will not be charged to request any of the above, unless the request is deemed to be excessive. In the unlikely event of this happening, you may be charged a small fee to cover the costs of this excessive request.
